A Little About Me

Hi! I’m Sarah. In 2009 I started Hazel Owelry Hatchery Program, with the goal of raising the finest companion owls and also to fill my passion for art as I studied to become a science teacher. I absolutely love teaching kids to appreciate and love nature. Once I had my daughter, I knew the classroom could wait a while as I focused on her, which is it’s own 24/7 teaching job. Quite often I think my classes of middle schoolers were less rowdy than one toddler.
So now being a mom and art are my full time jobs. When I get time to myself, I happily slink off to sculpt and paint and listen to audiobooks. Luckily my firefighter husband and teen humor me and support my endeavors. I even get to teach ecology a bit on the side. Life is good and I’m truly blessed to live it surrounded but such amazing family and friends and of course you all!
So thank you for coming on my journey to grow as an artist, teacher, mother, and socially awkward human. You guys are the best.
